Crispy Fried Shrimp Lettuce Wraps Recipe

Now this is a fun appetizer or entrée. Everyone will love these sweet and spicy lettuce wraps. A Sriracha glaze covers the fried shrimp generously giving this fresh recipe quite the kick!

Ingredients

INGREDIENTS

1 cup Japanese-style beer
1 cup rice flour
½ tsp. salt
6 oz. raw rock shrimp
8 lettuce leaves
Oil for frying

 

Sriracha Glaze
½ cup Sriracha Sauce
1/8 cup Honey
1 Tbsp. Mizkan Mirin
½ Tbsp. white sesame seeds
½ Tbsp. black sesame seeds
1 tsp. Mizkan Natural Rice Vinegar
1 tsp. salt

 

Slaw
1 Tbsp. Mizkan Ponzu Citrus Seasoned Soy Sauce
1 tsp. honey
1 Tbsp. oil
¼ cup radishes, thinly sliced
¼ cup baby corn, 1/8” coins
½ cup carrots, julienned
1 Tbsp. cilantro, chopped
Salt to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a mixing bowl combine rice flour, salt, and Mizkan Mirin. Mix well.
  2. Preheat oil in heavy pot or pan to 350ºF to fry the shrimp. In batches, dip each shrimp in the batter and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-4 minutes. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to dry.
  3. Make your Sriracha glaze by combining Sriracha sauce and honey in a small pot, stir until the two ingredients have created a homogeneous mix, bring to a simmer.
  4. Toss shrimp with the Sriracha Glaze to finish.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine Mizkan Ponzu Citrus Seasoned Soy Sauce, honey, salt, oil, radishes, baby corn coins, carrots, and cilantro and toss to combine well.
  6. For the wrap, take 1 large lettuce leaf, and top with three crispy shrimp and two tablespoons of slaw. Enjoy!
